The word herb is an English version of the Hindi
word 'aushadhi'. Herbs are the highest quality food known to human which
is a whole part containing all the potential ingredients needed to for a
human body to protect itself from severe disease.
Human body is a miniature of whole world and this microcosm can be harmonized with help of nature's rhythm. Man can only balance his needs in compliance with nature. Herbs are the only ways through which human body can ward off the negative energy that surrounds in the form of disease and to maintain equilibrium. Herbs are said to be the most effective means bestowed by Mother Nature to cure the severest disease on this earth. Ayurveda profoundly use the herbs of nature for every medication. According to ancient science of Ayurveda herbs works depending on the self correcting mechanism and balance of three elements 'Vata', 'Pitta' and 'Kaplan' in the human body. Herbs are used for healthcare since the ancient time of sages till now and also in other cultures and religions. They are the most natural way to cure all kind of disease, mind and body ailments and other threatening ailments. Today most of the medicines are dispensed with natural herbs; some made of herbs and others are synthesized to imitate a natural herb. All in all herbs are an active ingredient in medicines. Herbs are valued for their prolific medicinal properties since ancient times and other branches of science such as aromatherapy, homeopathy, naturopathy etc have been using these herbs abundantly. With the increased use of technology and changed lifestyle people are suffering from severe bodily ailments both physically and mentally. Spices are aromatic, strongly flavored plants used
in cuisines as preservatives or flavoring while cooking. Spices are
often used in rituals and medicines as they are highly valued for their
prized medicinal properties. Spices are distinguished from other plants
which are also used for the same purpose such as herbs, vegetables and
fruits.
Spices have been cultivated and used from ancient times indeed the art of seasoning is the ancient in the Indian subcontinent. Indian continent cuisines are popular for its seasoning and aromatic flavor which comes from adding different spices. Pepper, cumin, cloves, cardamom, fenugreek, cayenne pepper, bay leaves, fennel etc have been used since ancient civilizations of harrappa and mohenjodaro where these spices were being grounded and then used in cooking. Spices could be the other reason which lured the explorers and conquerors to make a way in India. In spite of wide geopolitical transformation took place in our history that has eroded its wealth and our country will still remain the bastion of spices. Spices will remain a symbol of our rich heritage and culture. Indian food is flavorless without spices. Unlike the diversity and culture of India which is different still unifies, our food and the ingredients used are same and exotic. Vegetables as we know are an edible plant or part of
a plant which is needed to be cooked before eating. The word is not
scientific rather its meaning is largely based on culinary and cultural
tradition. These vegetables can be consumed either raw or cooked.
Vegetables are the primary source of food for human beings and even for
animals. It contains a various constituents such as minerals, vitamins,
proteins, iron and water. These constituents are necessary for a human
body.
Vegetables are brimming and overflowed with fiber and a whole range of other nutritious ingredients, anti-oxidants and are low in calories which makes you fit and healthy. Some Vegetables are high in fiber as fiber is a part of plant which can't be digested or absorbed by the body. A high fiber diet may protect you against many severe bodily ailments. These fibers should be regularly consumed by body in order to prevent disease. Today people are taking vitamins, iron pills to cop up with the disease they are suffering from, but they may not intimate with the side effects. It is better to take these necessary nutrients from vegetables than harmful pills or other supplements. There are types of vegetables which can be consumed such as legumes- carrot, radish, turnip, cauliflower, peas, spinach, broccoli, sweet potatoes etc. These are green vegetables which help to protect us from different disease like cancer. Green vegetables contain beta-carotene, a pigment which is converted into vitamin A by the body. Vegetables which are good source of vitamin C are amla, lemon and help to prevent throat and stomach cancer, scurvy and other diseases. Other vegetables which are source of vitamin C include pepper, cabbage, tomato, cauliflower and chestnuts. They also boost up your immune system. We can conclude that all the vegetables are good source of important nutrients and should be taken frequently in order to absorb necessary ingredients which are required by our body to live. Vegetables not only quench hunger but apart from boosting your immunity, it helps to prevents symptoms of cancer, arthritis, builds up blood and gives energy, strengthens the metabolism and stimulates hormones.
