History

Raspberry is a savoury delicacy, a native to Europe and northern Asia.

It is been consumed as fruit and one of the favourite among the consumers.

Plant Description

Raspberry is a perennial plant which is easy to grow and spreads all over the field if unchecked.

The plant grows to a height of 1.5m to 2.5m, unbranched and bears large pinnate leaves having five or seven leaflets.

During the late spring it produces small flowers about 1 cm in diameter with five white petals.

The fruit is a red, juicy berry which sweet, but tart flavoured.

Cultivation

Raspberry is propagated easily on its own without any hardships. It usually prefers open areas and thrives best in strong loamy soil. The cultivation is done commercially for fruit raspberry.
