300 species growing in temperate and arctic regions.<BR> </P> <P>It is native to Asia, Europe, and North America and highly diversified in Himalayan region and central Asia. <BR></P> <H2>Plant Description</H2> <P>Saussurea is perennial plant having different ranges in height growing from alpine species 5-10 cm tall to small plant of 3 m tall. <BR></P> <P>The leaves borne in dense basal rosette coming up spirally the flowering stem. <BR></P> <P>The flower is produced on a small capitula is dense head sometimes surrounded with wooly hairs. <BR></P> <H2>Cultivation</H2> <P>The species
