Trans-isomers of ursuhenol (Naure 1960, 186, 389), anacardic acid, cardol, catechol, fixed oil, anacardol and semecarpol.

Uses

Bhilwa is used both externally and internally for the wide range of diseases. The seeds, fruit and oil are held high for its medicinal value.

The oil from bhilwa is applied to heal cracked feet, and if mixed with sesame oil it works wonder for wounds and sores in preventing pus formation.

It has also been employed for its multifarious properties and considered beneficial for ailments like piles, colitis, diarrhea, dyspepsia, tumours and worms.

Bhilwa is mixed with milk can be applied on skin infections scabies, eczema, and ringworms.

In ayurveda bhallataka is known as �rasayana� which rejuvenates skin from various skin ailments.
